The manual for Ski's states: "Pinch the water supply hose from the impeller that goes to the engine."

Here is a picture of it from a Ski manual, it may be enough for you to figure it out...

Thank you!

Looking at your picture I can't tell which hose is coming and which is going,,, so I played it safe with a picture and text...

Someone will know for sure as I would think they are set up the same way as far as inlet and outlet goes. I just don't know which is which.

It is just a matter of tracing the hose back to the pump now...

You are welcome..

Why?

Will water moving through the pump make it all the way to the engine and pipe ?

Yes when towing over 5mph water can get into to engine and hydrolok the engine, personally I would clamp the line when towing at any speed.

Have to clamp the line every time i tow the boat?

Officially no. And most manuals say it is not required as long as you tow under 15 MPH.

That said, I would clamp it any time a tow is being done. Water in the engine is the enemy. The metal on the inside of the engine is extremely vulnerable to water due to how clean and unprotected it is. Rust happens within hours. Rust can easily destroy things when you start to crank the engine.

I know to clamp only on water. I think the guy above Clirry who asked may have been confused. Wanted to clarify for him not me.

Yeah, obviously noobie here... I rather to make double sure.

I have the plastic plier looking ones similar to the Amazon ones above. They do not work very well if you need a tight leak proof clamp as they are too flexy. Get the metal ones from Summit or other location.
