What's up? Ski pylon is an obsolete part?

I have a couple guys asking to buy my stock pylon off of me and asking for the price, and I have no idea what it is worth (made a stainless pylon replacement that won't bend so my stock one is up for grabs).

I was looking to see if the 97 Challenger used the same part as the Challenger 1800, but both boats have the part listed as "obsolete".

What is up with that?

Any idea what is a good price for a used but good shape stock pylon?

id talk with your Dad and see what the cost of your new one cost and factor your price off of that.. Just try to make some cash but not be ruthless!

The cost of my new one was pretty much negligible. Materials were laying around the shop, and it took him less than an hour to make this while he was working on something else.

If the shop wasn't on the other side of Houston, I could make 20 of these in a day.

I used to work for the same guy my dad does, and he told me I could use his shop any time, but that is one heckuva drive...:ack:

sounds like you need to atleast make 1 trip there and make a dozen or so and sell....
As for factoring a price for the oem pole.. id look at an asortment of aftermarket pylons and then determine your price based on a 75% amount.. (just a thought)

If a person was to make one should it be taller than the stock one? Assuming it would be made stronger of course

Replaced that part on my boat when I bought it. The pylon was ..I guess aircraft aluminum and that 18 or so inch pylon was 80$ bucks brand spanking new!

Hey guys... this thread is 3 years old. The OP isn't around much, and can't make more poles.
