whats the difference between an sp and an spi

i was just wondering what the difference is between the bombardier seadoo sp and the spi if anyone knows

SP first produced in 1990 model number 5803 (Should appear on sticker on back of ski - typical)

1991 SP model number 5804

1992 SP model munber 5805

1993 SP model number 5806

1993 SPX model number 5807 (begin production)

1993 SPi model number 5808 (begin production)

1994 SP " " 5870

1994 SPi " " 5872

1994 SPX " " 5871

1995 SP " " 5873

1995 SPX " " 5874

1995 SPi " " 5875

1996 SP " " 5876

1996 SPX " " 5877

1996 SPi " " 5878

Note the changes in SPX & SPi numbers over the years - strange - maybe wrong?

The SPX has a different engine. That ski is generally the previous version of the XP.
