I am new to the world of seadoos and to this forum. Would like to say hello to everyone. :) I just bought two older seadoos which i believe are a 1991 seadoo sp and a 1990 seadoo (not sure of the model as it just says seadoo but looks pretty much identical to the 1991. ( any idea on how to figure out what model it is ?) My question is , exactly what type of motor oil do i use in these machines ? Are they 2 strokes or 4 strokes ? I would assume they are 4 stroke as the oil is not premixed with the fuel. I cant seem to get a straight answer. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi there and welcome to the world of seadoos and the forum.

You machines are most likely 2-strokes. You should be able to find a tank/container for the 2-stroke oil somewhere close to the fueltank and a cap that sais Oil on it on probably beside the fuel cap.. Oil injection is the most common on modern 2-stroke engines.

If it's a 4-stroke engine there will be none.
A fourstroke engine keeps the oil " in the engine" like our cars do.

The oil your twostroke engines use is usually Bombardier XPS or Bombardier Injection oil. If you would like to use another oil make sure that they meets or exceeds the API-TC low ash requirement.

Welcome to the seadoo forum superbee. Here is the requirements of the oil and the fuel required for you seadoo's If you post the "hull" number found on the rear of the seadoo I can get it figured out what model it is.

Use High quality low ASH API TC Injector oil.
Do Not use NMMA TC-W, TC-W2 or TC-W3 outboard motor oils or other ash less type 2 cycle oil. Avoid mixing different brands of API TC oil as resulting chemical reaction will cause severe engine damage. Never mix Mineral or synthetics oil together.

Never use fuel containing more than 10 % alcohol,( Methanol or Ethanol) as severe damage will occur. The minimum of 87 octane is recommended for most engines.
