Hello, new to the forum here, i did search the forums and didnt find the info i was looking for so im sorry if this is like a repost.

I am looking to buy a seadoo for summer, i have found a couple on a website and the one im most interested in is a 1998 XP. Here is a link to the add. http://stcatharines.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-boats-1998-seadoo-xp-951-W0QQAdIdZ55270795

Is that a solid machine to buy? What should i be considering. This is my first machine, but not my first time riding. My brother has a 2004 RXP so im used to going fast on water. If i go see this machine, what should i check on it to see if it is worth buying?

thanks

It's better to have an education on what you want before you get stuck with someone else's problems.

oh and is there something wrong with this year/make/model? there is like 3 or 4 for sale and there all 1998's, in the same city (my city, not big pop. of like 130,000)

Be patient - see if you can test ride it or at least see it in person to conduct some basic driveway tests (flushing water while running is always a crowd pleaser).

If you rush, then you may not carefully consider other costs or headaches down the road. These are fun boats. But as a first time buyer, you should know that it takes a bit of work to care for the craft as well as handle any repairs on a 10 year old ski.

Treat the purchase as you would a car. Natural mechanic? Then there is nothing stopping you but money. Don't work on your own car? Then budget for miscellaneous maintenance/repair accordingly.

Again, do your homework on the model you are looking at. And compare to other models such as the GSX. XP is a great boat, but if you have money to burn, then you can simply buy it up without much thought.

Nice Ride...talk about jumping out at you. The image is so big I can see the water spots. Yeks... try to resize your picture a little smaller...like 1/2 the size.
