Either your battery is dying, or there's liquid in the engine.
SO... pull the spark plugs, put a towel over the holes... and give it a crank.
If it seems dry... then put the plugs back in, and put a meter on the battery. If it doesn't stay above 11v while trying to crank... time for a new (good) battery.
FYI... a weak battery will destroy a starter. Basically, as it's stalled... it's getting hot, and roasting everything.
