I picked up what I thought was an 1997 XP. The HIN# number says it's an 97 and the graphics say it's an XP. It has an 787 engine with RAV valves, but when I look up parts for a 97 XP it shows an engine without the RAVs and allot of other things are different. But if I look up an 98 XP Limited it shows the engine I have (787 with RAVs). So what do I have????? an late 97 model with an 98 engine. How do I identify this machine HIN, engine model#.

Thanks

I believe I have read about this before. from what I understand they used some of the old parts when transitioning into newer models. but I can be wrong. but this is what I have read from a long time pwc mechanic. hope this helps. Robin :)

I think I answered my own question. I look on Ebay at 97 XPs and they do have the same engine I have. It was just hard to see what type of engine in the parts pictures that are online.

Thanks for the help.

Thanks. That is where I got confused. It needs a motor but the rest of the ski is in great shape, and comes with a 2002 single trailer for $500. Is it worth it?????

The trailer is probably worth $250.00, and the you could get a engine from SBT swapped out for less than $800.00 if the old engine can be used as a core. Go to www.sbtontheweb.com for details, than decide.
