Does anyone know the fuel capacity of the 1997 sea doo speedster? I have just put installed an oil cap-off kit so that I can premix my oil but have a half tank of fuel and need to know how much fuel the tank holds so I can mix the oil in the tank. So I am looking for the fuel tank capacity.

Here we go....... There’s no good reason to convert to premix on these and you are going to use a ton more oil premixing.

If we can’t convince you to keep the oil injection then you need to drain the tank and premix based on actual measured gallons. You can’t guess at 1/2 tank and you can’t just dump oil in the gas tank as it won’t mix thoroughly.

The tank size is 25gals. 20gals are used through the on (straw) petcock setting, while the last 5gal is what the reserve (straw) peacock setting.

This comment us so right on. These engines are designed to give little oil to start and low throttle. As you accelerate the oil mixture increases the faster you go.

With premix your going to have too much oil at low settings and it will smoke like a botch. And at high speeds it will not be enough oil.

You still need to run oil to and from the bottom of the engine to lube that cam area. So my going to premix your not saving anything. And if your switching because of carb or oil pump issue's...then fix those issues. Two stroke engines are some of the easiest things to fix and maintain.

When I got my 96 speedster, the oil injection system had been deleted.
It’s really annoying trying to mix it when you ride all the time and it smokes like a freight train. And not to mention the rate it eats plugs. I bought another 96 speedster for parts and installed the oil injection system. It runs soooo much better, eats less oil, significantly less smoke and my plugs aren’t soaked in oil at idle.
I’ll never go back to premix.

HOWEVER, to answer your question:
Pull your reserve fuel line off and pump/siphon your fuel out. Premix it in your 5 gallon cans and put it back in.
