What is the big silver canister thingie? (4tech 2011 Challerger 180 255hp)

Don't let my technically savvy jargon fool you, I'm new to these engines, lol
Looking under the "hood" (port side battery compartment hatch), I noticed two short straps in the bilge laying right by the port side drain plug.
To me, it looks like it was supposed to be one strap that snapped. It also looks like it was supposed to be holding the rear part of the aforementioned big silver thingie as there are two oval rings attached to the bilge floor on each side that look to match the broken straps hooks... I tried shaking the silver canister to see if it was loose, but it seems to be secure.
I just got the boat, it only has 17hrs!
Any insight would be appreciated.

Sounds like the exhaust cannnister. "Thingy" is a word

when i had my 180, the strap that holds the exhaust had broken, so be sure to check on it.

Yes, that's what it was... Bought a new one from Riva and installed it.
BUT NOW I FOUND OUT TODAY THERE WAS A RECALL ISSUED BY SEADOO FOR THIS STRAP! (campaign 2011-5)
So the New part I put on is still defective... Proper replacement strap part # ends in 093
