Only 14 feet is a major plus....it lets me store mine in the garage so no storage fees or Texas sun fading it out.

That one looks in decent shape. The engines.... gotta test the compression on both engines. You must lake test it, if he makes up excuses why you can't, then I'd knock $1000 off the price.

Dependable? That's a funny word. I'm on my second SeaDoo boat and I would not call either one dependable. They run great when they are tuned and maintained well. Things constantly need adjusting, lubing, checking, cleaned, etc. If you are not handy with a wrench or interested in spending time working on it, I'd walk away.

It's a 20 year old boat, its going to need TLC.

I had a 28 foot Pontoon boat with a Johnson Outboard...that was dependable. SeaDoo Jetboats...maybe when they are new. But when my SeaDoo gets up on plane it makes me smile like the pontoon boat never could.

I agree with all above. The reason I got my speedster over another size jet boat was because its the only one that fits in my garage ( with only a few inches to spare). If you're not handy with a wrench then just walk away now before this becomes a money pit. Also, since it's the off season the price is a little high.

Fun yes, dependable no. I owned a speedster for one season, while you can't beat the "fun factor", there's nothing like sliding around a corner, with dual throttles in a dual engine Seadoo boat. Also the acceleration is certainly there. Now the bad news, I spent more time working on the boat than time in the water, it was a money pit, and sadly a gas hog. I sold it and bought a stern drive Mercruiser.

I have the same boat but a 96. It is a blast to drive but can be a little rough out in open waters. The boat is a great size for pulling behind any tow vehicle and storing in garage as mentioned. Price, well here in FL that seems like a good price for a good running boat. Make sure you do a water test for a 30-45 minute ride to make sure there are no issues like over heating and hard starts. I would say offer him $2200 and mention that it is end of season.....

A Woman I work with has one. Her Husband wrenches on it. Her major complaint is it just sucks the fuel. You figure a single engine Ski can run through 15 gallons in 4 hours. The boats have 2 engines so you have 30 gallons out the exhaust in 4 hours. It is fast and a blast she says!
