Okay, if someone can point me in the right direction, if it isn't posted in the Premium pages, I would be eternally grateful.

I have a yellow Rotax, and though I have a couple of numbers from the top, have no idea what they mean. I found a bunch of numbers in the forward tank compartment labelled Votre# and Noire# What in tarnation are these?

Thanks,

Jeff

French

The words are french. The word Votre refers to the word "name" and the word Noire refers to the color "black".

okay, now I am even more confused. The numbers I have are Votre#: 29100197 and the Noire#: 700112410. I just can't wrap my mind around it.

The numbers I found on the head is 913, then 270/275.

I found a reference for the Hull number so thats Figured out, lolol. According to the Hull number I have a 1990, built in 1989.

Being the age that it is, that means I don't need a programmed lanyard key?

Is an hour meter okay to install? There are no guages or indicators of any kind on this so I am wondering what I can do with it.

Numbers

Hi Dusthawk,
I have some answers for you but not all.
Your ski doesn't have a coded key system. That wasn't used until 1996 or so.
You say your engine color is yellow. Your engine size is commonly referred to as a "580" although your engine is actually 587 CC's. Rotax built a "yellow" 580 and a "white" 580. There are big differences between the yellow and the white engines and you need to remember this if you are trying to get parts.
The last two digits of the serial no. refer to the year of the ski....89=1989.

Excellent! Thanks!

Okay, so what I have is a 1990 SP 580. That will go a long way to finding the few parts I need to make his a runner. I could be on the water within 2 weeks!!!!!

Dusthawk, you might consider signing up as a premium member so you have access to the shop manuals available to do trouble shooting or to familiarize yourself with the workings of your seadoo. The seadoo forum has a large library of repair and operators manuals. Click on the "seadoo manuals" on the top of the page for more details. We are always here to help if you have any questions or have a concern while repairing something. The manuals are a great guide with pictures and diagrams to help complete your project.

I plan on becoming a premium member as soon as I can afford it. I am disabled so my income isn't that great right now. I might be able to work by sometime this summer but it isn't likely. I will probably need a couple more surgeries in the coming months but until we can get more MRI's I don't know for sure.

Ran into a stumbling block today. Is there a bracket or something that mounts the choke cable? Where I thought it goes the cable isn't long enough. There is a notch like thing on the base of the Carb where I thought it went but it is about an inch too far away from the choke lever arm.

Choke?

Yeah, the choke cable should run along the top end of the carbs where it hooks to a small metal plate. You pull on the cable to slide it through because the wire is the only thing meant to slip through. Then the two nuts on the treaded side of the cable tighten against each other on that piece of metal to hold them in place.

Hey dusthawk I see you signed up as a premium membership. Did you see the parts breakdown for the choke brket for the carb you were looking for? If you still need help with it give us a hollar back.
