So I was trying to get my kill switch working earlier with out a rev limiter box...This was before I knew that it was part of the system.

Anyways I hooked the red power that is fed through the stop button/tether/beeper straight to the black wire that would normally go the the rev limiter. It looks like it goes to the coil. At this point I lost spark.

Did I smoke my coil by putting power to this black wire?

Good news it that I don't need a kill switch now that I have no spark...

No idea how the rev. limiter does what it does but it seems important lol for the kill switch not just being a rev limiter

I think you applied +12V directly to your coil and smoked it. You can measure the resistance across the coil. If it's infinite, you smoked it. A typical ignition coil should read somewhere between 0.2 and 0.8 ohms. You can look up the correct value in your particular model's shop manual. Note that while an incorrect resistance value indicates a fried ignition coil, a correct value doesn't guarantee the coil is okay.
