bought a used sea doo gsx rfi 1999. says to run only senth. oil. i bought it and found rear cylinder blown out. further inspection---water cannels full of sand. the oil is a blue green color. dont want to rebuild and run wrong oil. my mach. thinks it is the right oil.

The seadoo XP-S syn. is brown. I have heard of the older seadoo oil to be blue though, but not sure about that I have never seen seadoo syn. oil other than brown. Just to be sure I would remove as much of the old stuff as you can and just by a couple of new gallons of the seadoo XP-s syn. Your gonna need some extra for when you premix for the break-in after you rebuild.

Oil color......

You can not use a "color code" system in identifing the type oil in your system. The old synthetic oil from Seadoo is what nswillin said, but don't use that as a guide to judge your oil. Different manafacturers use different colors. Quick Silver synthetic is purple..........

Use a 32:1 oil ratio on a new break-in for engines.......top end?. ....I don't know if there are any guidlines on just the upper end change out.

32:1 mixed with the gas ontop of the oil injection system? they say breakin is for 10 hrs. never exceding 3/4 throttle. is that correct? also premix oil with the gas wont hurt or clog the fuel injectors will it. the oil in the tank is a blue purple not green. it may be the synthetic.

If I am not mistaken. I do not know if it applies to your year but I have read in newer models premix can cause problems. I have heard this from pro's. I think it had to do with sensers. ps I searched the parts of your ski and could not find any senser that I thought it could harm. So my guess would be that you should be ok. Only guessing though! Good luck Robin
