What Carb size for '93 580cc????

HI!
Got a used 93 SP 600 with yellow rotax engine, someone before me changed the carb and intake and it doesn't run right. It's a 44mm measuring the carb's outlet diameter.
What size carb did this engine come with originally?

I'm also thinking it may be a weak coil or condensor, since it will run barely ok (surges and is hard to build-up to speed) for about 10 minutes, then do nothing but idle. Plugs are burning a nice chocolate brown.

Make sure you measure the carb correctly I am not sure as I seem to have a bad memory but I believe that I may have read that it is measured by the smallest part of the inside of the carb's throat. search a litle more so that you know for a fact. :cheers:
