Hey Guys its me again,
pulled my boat out only to notice the weedless gate is slightly open (about 1 inch)
Im afraid to hit the button to test it because it looks like the grate would hit the trailer.
Anyone lend a hand here, I saw the adjustment is in the center locker, the problem is its the starboard side, which is pretty well hidden.
Unbelievable, of course the 4th weekend is fast approaching, nice time to work on the boat
Thanks for any help
Jim

Post a pic. if it's only down an inch... it may not be too bad.

BUT... if it needs adjusted... there's no way around it. I feel you pain, because I work on these things all the time... and seadoo did some stuff that is dam near impossible to get to. But... in production... they put all the stuff in the lower hull before the top is put on.

Dear Dr Honda
Just disconnected the grate from the cable and hit the button, the motor is trying but the cable does not move. Some how it got stuck open, maybe when it was clearing something it got trapped between the grate and the boat and got jammed.
Do you think this is a tough fix? Any suggestions?
Thanks
Jim

It's down about 4 inches, ouch. How do I attach a picture

If you click on the "Advanced" tab... there will be an option to attach a picture below the typeing box. OR... you can link it back from a site like Photobucket.

4" is way too much... and if the cable isn't moving... that's not good. You need to get a look at the motor, and the cable at that end. (to see if it's connected still)

Since you have the cable off the grate... can you move the grate by hand?

Found the starboard cable bound up, when I unscrewed tithe mechanism freed up. It looks to have a slight kink in it. I ordered a new cable, looks pritty easy to install. Great access under the driver consol

Yep... if you get a kink... the internals will corrode, and the cable will bind.

Once you get the new cable... let us know how it goes.
