wear ring totally gone 99 sea doo GTI

Can anyone tell me why a wear ring would be totally destroyed and sucked into the impeller on a
99 GTI Sea Doo?
I'm new at this but I'm assuming that there are bearings etc... that will need to be replaced also but not sure?
The propeller has some minor wear on edges but the shaft and spleen look fine... I just don't know how or why a wear ring would be sucked into propeller and chewing it up so bad that it jammed everything?

hard ridin....

From hard riding.......that's what the wearing ring is ther for. Premature loss of the wearing ring can be caused from riding along the surf of the beach, picking up sand, which is very abrasive.

It's a 99 model....it's time for the wearing ring to go out.
