I have a question about the wear ring, I have a 1993 seadoo GTS, as far as I know wear ring has never been replaced, what are some signs that I need to replace it? Still runs great I just want to know the signs. Thanks
You know, we in the forum love to answer questions and help others out. But when someone comes in, they normally do a little searching and reading up on what it is they are looking for. The clearances and procedures replacing the wearing ring have been printed a million times.
I'm not being rude, there are just a lot of mechanical issues that many members have and to go over something over and over again, gets a bit tiresome.
Easy way to tell your wear ring or impeller is done is when your engine is reving pretty high and you are not accelerating very quick. From a stop, when accelerating you will likely hit the rev limiter and take quite a bit of time to get up to a decent speed. From my exp with a damaged wear ring high end performance did not change much....I could still hit almost top speed but the 'bite' was not there out of the hole. If this is happening, it is time to check the clearance like Snipe said.
After you've done some investigating and find that you need more answers on something not covered or if something doesn't quite fit your problem, please don't hesitate to ask, we'll be happy to help you in any way we can.
I feel guilt sometimes when I point out the "search engine"........but for some members who need an answer really quickly, this is the fastest way to find it.
Welcome to the forum and I'm not usually cranky..........
