Anyone have good/bad pictures or what to look for. I was cleaning my 2006 RXP and getting it ready to run next weekend. I used a flashlight to look inside the impeller ans I see the white wearring. Its clean, no scrapes or guages, blades are smooth and clean. So its it alright?

After looking a second time. Its perfectly clean, smooth inside. The blades are also clean, smooth no guages. I also got the dealer papers on when it was serviced and its all new parts installed in aug 09', So Im good to go.

To check the wear ring and impeller use a feeler guage to measure thew clearance to see if it is too wide. It should be .040" at the center of the blade of the impeller. Sometimes the wear ring is perfectly smooth from sand and being run in low water sandy conditions that wear it out. The gap is too big to allow full force thrust of the water forced by the impeller

Cool. I will break out the feeler guage.

I looked in the shop manual to inspect the wear ring, can it be done without the removal of the nozzle, venturi & pump? I don't see how I could get a feeler gauge in there unless those components are removed.

here is a jacked wear-ring... stones stuck in impeller did this...

slight nearly not visible to the naked eye, but only to touch, is normal.

If it looks like this, you'll notice 'cavitation' or a hesitation under way/load.
