Wear Ring and Impeller 2012 Speedster 150 HO

Hey Everyone,

I hit some skinny water this weekend and heard a couple of what I think were shells go through the pump. Anyway, I lost my hole shot and my top end went from close to 60Mph down to 45.

I checked out the wear ring and it does have some gouges and the stock impeller has some nicks on the leading edge.

I have never changed out a wear ring or an impeller before. I saw the guides on here and I am pretty sure that it is something that I can handle.

The problem that I have is that there are so many different impeller tools, wear rings, and impellers out there. How do I know with 100% certainty which one is right / best one for the 2012 Speedster 150 with the 260 motor. The last thing that I want to do is buy the wrong thing and have to return it. I am guessing that this boat uses some of the same parts as the skis.

So, Any recommendations on what specifically to get and where to get it? What impeller would you put on? I am more concerned about the hole shot then I am top speed but a nice balance would be great too.

Thanks in advance for the help with this,

Mark

I just called Solas Impellers and the sales person told me that they do not have anything for any of the newer 150 speedsters in the 255/260HP range. This makes me think that they either just have not updated their charts or the impeller is dramatically different from impellers from the 215 HP boats in the 2007, 2008 time frame. Any ideas on how to determine would be most welcome.

It would have to be pretty chewed up and bent to only hit 45 now. Are you sure nothing is stuck in the pump area OR your supercharger is not slipping?

Take the impeller out and ship to Impros and have it re worked and tuned. I would stick with a OEM wear ring as well.

I can tell you that the RPMs are hitting close to 8000 still. BUT, I need to do another test run because there may have been something caught up in the pump that fell out on the drive back to the house on the trailer.

It really did run like there was something blocking the intake, but there was nothing there when I jumped off the boat and took a look.
