Waxing / Polishing Questions

I plan on waxing my boat here in a couple of weeks and haven't ever used a polisher before. I plan on applying the wax by hand and using the polisher to take it off. Haven't bought the polisher yet but just going to by a harbor freight or porter cable polisher. My question is, what type of pads do I used on the polisher to take the wax off of the boat?

Unless I am misreading the question, the polisher should be used to apply the wax. I use a soft foam pad on the polisher.

Remove the wax with a soft cloth by hand.
