Waterski advice

Any one know the advantages or disadvantages of plastic or metal fins on combo waterski's?

Competition...

Only in competition would you actually notice a difference. Though, combo skis would never be used in competition.

The fin, usually 3 or 4 inches deep is great for hard cut-n-jumps, or for slalom sking a pylon course. If your just the every day skier, looking for fun on the river, it really wouldn't matter. I'd probably go with plastic for safety reasons.

thanks, I was just worried that it might make a difference in rough choppy water. I skied alot as a kid and had the metal fins but again that was the only choice.
