Waterproofing the glove box

So yesterday I went for a ride, I was blowing off some steam and having fun in the chop.. Until a huge wave came and drenched the top of the ski and me with it... Turns out water got into the glovebox under the handlebars and ruined my 160 dollar fobik key for my truck and my 200 dollar alarm remote...luckily my phone was in its lifeproof case... (That didn't suck as bad as waiting for someone to bring me my spare)...

Has anyone done some sort of weatherproofing.. Maybe a thin strip where the lid meets the Sides of the glove box? Of course I'm going to go get a waterproof box for my stuff now but I was thinking of some added protection.. Would it work?

Dunno if you could apply even enough pressure around the lid for a gasket to work perfectly. Big zip-lock baggies for valuables storage always worked well enough for me.

sorry. not flexible enough to change shape to suit my needs....

wallet...truck keys....sometimes camera....gps case.....sun screen....info....odd o-ring....phone...

I don't bring all of that crap, every time...but when I do...ability to change shape is a must.

I understand your need for flexibility, that brand makes bigger sizes, my case takes up the whole glove box, it has room for keys, wallet and phone for three people with room left over, it's all preference though. With the large case I can just grab it and have everything when I'm at the dock or the ramp.

Why are you worried about waterproofing your sunscreen? I would never put any liquid in with electronics and wallets.

I'm not worried about waterproofing the sunscreen..heh. I am worried about it being crushed and exploding in my glove box because my possibles container takes up too much room.

Keeping this in mind as well...my box lid has an indentation that allows the mounting of my gps. So...less room than usual for most '04-'09 RXT's

Oh gotcha, my sunscreen has its own little protected spot in the front box. I too have had sunscreen get crushed in the glove box. Like when my other half tries to stuff it with as much unnecessary crap as possible.
