Got the boat running and put it in the lake. Forgot to put the drain plugs in at first but put them in within a few minutes. Popped the seat and it didn't look bad. Started up and ran ok... Brought back to the dock and took seat off again... Still looks like the same amount of water (thought it had a bailer) . I see water dripping from what must be a hole in the bottom of the exhaust where it goes over. Will try to post pics. Am I scewed or is that normal? Seems like no water should be in there to leak and no hole should be there.

The circular weld marks on the pipe are made of aluminum. Over time they corrode through. I don't know if that is your problem but it's common. I can't tell if this applies to yours. Post a pic of the actual leak in action

IMG_20170729_150047328.jpg also is this a fix it now thing or over the winter?

I'm at the lake and if I can drive it I will but don't want to kill it... Argh... I just got it running.

Ok so from that pic that's the aluminum plug. There was a post about that resently. When mine eat through the mechanic ground it clean and applied a layer of epoxy over the entire plug. I had the boat for a few more years and it never leaked again. No one on the forum thinks this is the best solution but it held and he only charged me a few bucks. The long term fix involves removing the pipe and welding in New plugs. I can't find the other post but it shows in more detail the plugs

I personally would fix it. You don't want the water level to rise to the level of the carbs. Also on mine the spray of water was directly towards the air intake on the box so when I pushed the throttle it sputtered with water. Any way patch it up and get back out there

Dragged it home. Will try to see if i can get something in there to grind it... how hard is it to remove? I'm trying to take apart a 95 XP and some of the bolts have such low clearance i had to order a low profile hex wrench...
