water in boat and engine compartment

Ran the boat for around 90 min on Sun. Left in water and had water up to seats and in engine compartment today - Thursday. Pulled boat out of water and drained. Put back in water for 2 hours without any water coming in. Any ideas about the problem? Also, boat is in Lake George, NY. Need to get it checked out. Any recs on good mechanic/service facility?

Did you ran the boat for those two hours? I just found my carbon seal not working and it only leaks when running.

I would also suspect the carbon seal.

Carbon seal or clamp fell off the black boot. Did you get the engine running?

Boat going into mechanic for engine check tomorrow. Water went up 2/3 way up side of battery so engine mostly under water. Submerged rear end of boat today and found leak under rub rail in rear. Hopefully this is the problem. Will see what the mechanic says about engine. Thanks for in
