I wrote a month ago about how my 2012 210 Challenger continuously had water in the bilge. It built up enough that the automatic bilge pump would turn on periodically. The boat remains in the water constantly and this would occur even in periods where there was little rain. I am a completely new boat owner and reached out to this forum for solutions. People expressed a range of concerns and so I had the dealer come and pick it up. They took it to the water and watched as a very minor few drop trickle of water came in through the left drive shaft seal. However there was enough of a leak through the right drive shaft seal that the bilge pump would turn on every 45 minutes. There was a defect in the hull and it was fixed by pulling the right drive shaft. This has completely solved the problem.I have learned that water in the bilge can be caused by loose drain plug , drive shaft carbon rings leaking or problems with the exhaust system etc. I am writing this so others know this is a situation that is not normal and requires attentio. Otherwise you risk sinking the boat . Thanks to all those who took time to help.
