Hello
I have a 2008 Seadoo Challenger 230 . I trailer the boat to the water and take it out every time and never have an issue.
Only when I leave the boat in the water from more than a day at a dock I go back to start the boat and one of the motors turns over but does not start. I pulled plugs found droplets of water on the plugs mixed with the fuel ? I changed plugs and it ran fine all day until I turned off the motor again and let it sit for 2 hours.

It is a closed cooling system how can water get into to the cylinder???????

Please let me know your thoughts .
Thank you in advanced
Brian

If it is like most jet skis, water can get in through the exhaust, cracked head, cracked block or bad O-rings between the head and the block.

I didn't go with condensation as it only happens when it is left in the water. That said, it could be due to the dramatic temperature difference from the air temperature vs the water temp it is sitting in.

Water

I am having a hard time with thinking its condensation. Happens only to one motor and only when I leave it in the water. Is there anyway for water to get back in thru the exhaust?

Are your engines supercharged inter-cooled? If so, the trouble engine could have a leaking inter-cooler. The times you take the boat out of the water, after the day of fun, the system is allowed to gravity drain as you trailer away. The times you leave it in the water, the system does not self drain (since some of it is still submerged in the water) and therefore it may leak water into the intake and cylinders.

Unless you are loosing coolant from the reservoir, the water is most likely coming from the other exhaust cooling system which would feed the inter-cooler (there are two separate cooling systems for each engine).

Just kind of a shot in the dark, but I have heard of people with leaking inter-coolers experiencing similar problems.

Thank you 007
I will keep looking for a solution. Any suggestions anyone can give is appreciated.

My dealer said drop it off and we will look around to try and find the problem@ $95 an hour. Can't Afford That!!!!!
