Hey everyone,

So I have a 1990 Seadoo SP that my uncle bought new way back when, and has since "given" it to me. It had been sitting unused for a good amount of years because he was too lazy to get his boating safety certificate when it became required in NJ, so it sat and waited for me. I got it running last year, really simple, and it ran great. Until I popped a water hose and had to quickly make it back to my beach before the engine compartment filled up. I wasn't sure how to fix it and wasn't really ready to put in the time to diagnose and fix it. So now that I have the time and want to fix it up with a buddy of mine, I stumbled across this great forum and have been hooked on it ever since. I posted in the troubleshooting forum to try and diagnose the problem, and came up with what I think it is. (that thread is here if you want to see it: http://www.seadooforum.com/showthread.php?t=2753)

I won't be able to take a look at the ski for another week or two, thats when I'm going down to the house for the first time, (finishing up my first year of college now), but I would like some ideas as to how to fix it so I can get started right away and maximize time on the water.

Ok so enough of that, the problem I believe is that one of the water cooling system hoses has snapped off or come loose, which leaks water directly into the inside of the hull(obviously not good). After some analysis of the manual and hose schematics, I believe it is the hose that is the main out for the water from the engine to the main water drain out in the back. Reason being, when I hook the fresh water hose up to the ski, and begin to run the water, water immediately floods into the hull, and it seems to be on the right side, which is where the hose is located. I originally thought this was a water input hose, but through reading the manual I realized it is a water out, and that the hose hookup is supposed to clean the system through backwash or something. That said I am hoping this is easier to fix. I'm just not sure how to go about doing it, what parts to use, that kind of stuff. Also, any more tests to help diagnose, what to look for, literally any advice, help would be greatly appreciated. Please feel free to ask questions to clarify stuff and I'll be sure to answer them best I can. I'd love to get this thing running again as soon as possible.

Also, I have some tight steering, at this poing that problem is minor, given if i don't fix the first then this one is irrelevant, but I figured I would ask about it anyway. I found this tutorial(http://www.seadoosource.com/steerfix.html)
But I'm not sure how accurate/good that is. If anyone has any tips, suggestions, whatever, feel free to add your two cents.

Thanks again

water outlet...

Your outlet water comes from the top of the head on the opposite side of the inlet. If you have a 90* nipple, that has no hose on it and is squirting water into your hull, that water line is suppose to connect to your water regulator in the back at the resonator...........good luck
