I have a 2008 180 Challenger, and flooded the engine compartment over the weekend. The engine will not start and I believe it is holding water. I did check the oil and it appears a milky chocolate color. How quick will the engine begin to rust? Is there anything I can do until I can take it to the repair center tomorrow? Will this be major damage (expense)?
Thank you!

water flooded engine help

I flooded my engine compartment at the weekend on the RYA PWC course where you have to turn your ski right over and then right it again.
My ski is a 98 gsx ltd and only a two stroke, but I followed instructions I found on this website and finally cured it, (Thanks to all you guys who posted stuff)
Take out the plugs and ground the leads, turn the engine over (with a cloth over the holes as water will spurt out) you may have to do this for quite a few times , Give the starter motor a rest inbetween short bursts. When no water is coming out any more (and you may need to recharge your battery to make sure that it has enough guts to turn it over) spray wd40 down your bores.
Make sure your plugs are clean and not damp and replace them. Reconnect your leads and crank it over.
If it still will not start do-over again.
Keep trying it worked for me in the end

get it to the garage as quick as you can !DO NOT TRY TO START IT!
that water is proberbly every where and in the supercharger!
was it fresh water or sea water?
the 4 tec engine can blow with to much oil in it so dont atempt to start it with water in there also
