Well, this weekend I decide to take the Doo out for the fisrt time this summer. I have a 18' Searay boat which I normally take out, and I really have no experiance with a doo. Well, I gained some experiance within 2 minutes of putting it in the water. I allways get on the boat/doo and let my girlfriend back it into the water, While she's parking the trailer, I tie up to the dock and wait for her. This weekend while I was tied up (~1-2 minutes in the water). A boat about 24' or so decided to run me over. I was sitting on the doo letting it warm up, and bam, without a so much as "watch out" from any of the 8 idiots on the boat the f piles the dock and me at the same time, which pushed me into a cement pilon. The back of my doo, the handle/rear seat post is cracked and I have a bunch of scratched plastic both from the boat and the pilon.(front and back of my doo). Now normally on the doo I don't put my vest on until I actually get to the dock and tie up. I might have to think twice about this now. If he would have hit just me and not the dock, I'm not sure if I would be able to gain any more experiance ever. Oh, yeah he was moving about 10 mph when he hit me. He said his throttle was stuck... Normally on my boat I watch behind and in front of me all the time. However this time,I was just relaxing sitting down, looking at the water, so I think getting hit was partially my fault. I guess this is just a reminder to always watch out around you, because somewhere there is a idiot wanting to crush you and your boat, and no matter who fault it is, your still just as injured or just as dead.
Oh yeah,, I'm not hurt and the doo will be fine..
