Impossible!

Robin, Dennis. I followed the link snipe layed out for us to study because this was something I learned in shop while at high school. The only way there can be spark to both pistons at one time, is if they both reached TDC at the same time. Well, they don't. When one piston is firing, the other piston is at the bottom of it's stroke, in the fuel induction stage. If that plug did fire, you'd have preignition.
The only way an internal combustion engine can create work/energy, is from sending the piston downward after the explosion takes place.
I've attached a picture of a crank so that you can see the position in which the connecting rods and pistons attach to it. Note the stager....
There is also, no possible way a coil can deliver two sparks at one time.
That last link that snipe sent out was a very easy to follow tutorial on how that engine works. Look at the animation and you'll see, the spark plug igniting compressed fuel at the top of the stroke.
