This impeller has been sitting in my garage for more than 10 years. I bought it for a 96 SPX that I had at the time and never got around to installing it. As I recall it came from somebody on EBay and it came in a Skat-Trak box - apparently they reconditioned it. It has not been used since it was refinished. SeaDoo logo and part number 271000497 are stamped on the hub.

My fall project is a 94 SP that I'm fixing up for my 15 year old. The single carb should be plenty to pull him up and down the river and it's less for me to have to maintain. Its impeller is pretty chewed up on the trailing edge, with one blade much worse than the others.

This machine will spend much of its time in brackish water, so I would really like to have a stainless prop. According to the charts, it comes stock with an aluminum 18.8 pitch impeller. I'm thinking that I can put an 18.3 pitch stainless impeller in it with little change in performance.

First question: Am I right in assuming that the 18.3 SS impeller from a 92 or 93 GTX would work in this application?

Second question: Am I right in assuming that putting the SS 11/22 in this pump would be a bad idea?

Final question: Does anybody have an 18.3 SS impeller that they would like to trade for my shiny 11/22?

So what do you think? Should I be looking for a stainless steel impeller with approximately the same pitch or should I just go with the aluminum impeller?

Definitely need to go with a stainless steel impeller. The trailing edge of my aluminum prop was cracked from ingesting a rock. When I attempted to straighten it out, a large section crumbled.

Combine this with the severe surface pitting all over the impeller and you an easily see why nobody will recondition the aluminum version.

So I'm giving up and putting the 11/22 into this unit. A famous SeaDoo owner once said, "You go to war with the army that you have." Fortunately my soldier weighs under 110 lbs. We'll see how it does and then you can all tell me that you told me so.

Thanks for the help!
