2005 challenger 1800- engine is Rotax 1503 4-tec, 4 stroke, campshaft, ligquid cooled - displacement 1493.8 cc; currently won't go over 30 mph - what is the top speed on this boat? Have been gives so many different answers - it is 185 hp. Engine states 4-TEC Supercharge...HELP

top speed should be about 45 mphish,

so if it is only doing 30 , then it could be impeller,supercharger, engine, carbs etc .....

do a compression test, since it being an 05 it really should be running in top shape aslong as it was maintained. It all depends on who owned it, unless your getting it for an unbelievable price, I would probably look for something that doesn't need work done to it.......

What was the max RPM at wide open throttle? You probably have either a blown supercharger or a wear ring/impeller issue.

i have an 06 C180 4teck SC and my RPMS get to 7750 to 7800 and my top speed is about 44mph to 46mph! at 6000rpms i do about 32mph! i hope that helps. Check you wear ring for any groves, chips or cracks!

Thanks for all your help. This boat is extremely clean (no wear and tear on the surface...even the storage areas are very clean and without scratches) and the body has 1 minor rub on the decal on the side. Top seems to have very little use and it has remained covered. The stitching on the seats are still white. As I said extremely clean and I can pick it up for $11,000......too much for the engine issues?

Yes that is too much in my opinion.2005 challenger has small gas tank and poor windshield design.thats why i sold mine last year for 10500 in perfect condition with every option.buy a 2006 it is a better boat for almost the same cost.
