Want to add a Battery Voltage Gauge

What is the best way to wire a battery voltage gauge on a 99 GSX RFI so it only comes on when the jetski is running. I understand if I go straight to the battery then the gauge will be on all the time and just drain down the battery

Just run the positive to the positive on one of the gauges. Check the electrical diagram from the shop manual.

I don't have access to the shop manual. Can anyone tell me which wire in the gauge is a power wire I can tie into? I appreciate the help. I do see a Red/purple one and not sure if this is one I can use

I am adding a relay so I need to fire a power source wire that is only hot when the Jetski is running so something like the light wire for the display gauge but what color wire is that?

ok so I just looked at this link and can't find anything indicating wire color and what it does

Go to page 491. It looks like the purple wire coming from the information gauge is the positive power supply. Black is the ground.

It also looks like the red/purple wire was used as a voltage indication.
