Wakesurfing behind a 210 Wake

I just picked up a 210 Wake, and was wondering if anyone has tried wakesurfing behind one and how the wake was for it. I've never done it but want to give it a try, my concern is dropping the cash on a board and the boat not throwing a big enough wake to do it.

Thanks,
Kane S.

get it to about 10mph with full ballast and look behind you. if you think it's enough, then go for it. I know you can with my 230 wake, but the ballast are about 800lbs more.

Congrats on the boat BTW, they're so nice. I wish the 230 was just a longer 210

I've looked at the wake but don't really know how big it has to be, I've never wakesurfed, I'm just wanting to get into it.

I thought the 230 was the same as the 210, just longer?

Thanks,
Kane S.

Oh, ok. I knew the 230 had a lot more ballast but didn't realize the back was different. I'm debating adding more ballast to mine just in case, probably just put a fat sac in the center storage compartment.

Normally when you wakesurf, you only load one side of the ballast up, making the boat list to one side. About 10mph is the right speed. The boat will be bow in the air. See if you could borrow someone's board or a lot of times a marina that sells them will let you rent one and take that off the price if you should decide to buy it.

Well, we tried it today and it definitely needs some more weight, we had 6 people and tried everything we could with the ballasts. I've been looking and I think an 1100lb fat sac will fit in the ski locker and I think that will be plenty to surf behind.

Cycleguy: I'm in deep east Texas, we go to Rayburn at least once a week. You?

Im in the DFW area. Try loading a fat sac on the side under the seats and possibly one in the middle locker. You really want all the weight on one side of the boat. It's also harder to surf behind these because there's not a "wedge" to help shape the wake.

Yeah, I know I need to add weight to one side but there's not a lot of room to put anything under the side seats. Ideally I'd like to add some weight to the front left but those compartments are real small. Hopefully just adding more weight will work, if not I'll look at adding some to the side to get it to list to one side.

a fat sac 500lb bag should fit under your seats on the left side, or you can set on on top of the seats in the back corner.

No ballast. You can wakesurf behind a SeaDoo 210 SP.

I have the same board and practically the same boat, 210 Wake, and with the ballast full and 5 people in the boat it still doesn't throw a big enough wake for a 200 lb guy to surf.

with a jet boat, you're never going to get a big clean wake to surf. The boats don't sit in the water deep enough, and there's no wedge to help shape the wake. I don't care how much ballast/people you have on board, you need a deeper hull with a different shape and a wedge to get that big Tige style wake.

I know it won't ever have a huge, clean wake, but if you put enough weight in a flat bottom boat it'll either sink or throw a big wake, I'm hoping for the latter out of mine.

A friend of mine took this today, I think we got it figured out without the Fat Sac, but it's still in the works.

Well, now that it's too cold to test them out, I picked up 2 400 lb fat sacs. I'm thinking one in front between the seats and one in the back to one side or the other should make a big difference. I'll report back on how they work around March or April.

Cycleguy, have you wakeboarded behind your 230 yet. I'm interested to hear how different the wake is to your old c180.
Cheers
