wake board tower movement

I have just purchased a 2008 230 Wake edition. I LOVE the boat.
My question is that the wake board tower seems to have a lot of side to side movement when the boat is moving, on the trailer or water. In fact you can push the tower while it is sitting. It moves more than any other boat with a tower I have owned in the past.

Is this normal? Do I have to worry about the fiberglass cracking under the stress of the side movement? Is there a way of tightening it up?

Great boat, congrats and let's see some pics.

Check a search here for wake towers, SD had a few problems with their towers in the past and after being pushed directly with Bombadier (after dealer check), seem to come through with enhanced or replacement towers. Recall it being the tower itself on other posts vs. the mounts, but having solid footings is critical as well.

I'm not intending to over publicize a non-issue here, but as you note an unstable tower isn't something to take lightly.

Good luck, let us know how it works out.

Yup same problem, BRP put and other mount kit in #2 and same thing rocking side to side , so the Dealer called BRP and they said they are aware of the problem, and I suggested it is a Safety Issue that it is. There Engineers are working on a solution apperently. Sure hope BRP stands behind there product and not sluff it off.

In all honesty I prefer sold mount towers this is where the tower has welded on mounts/feet that directly bolt to the fiberglass hull then plates underneath the fiberglass to offer even more strength. A tower should be strong and no movement. There are ways a customer could modify the system themselves to fix the problem.

I am thinking of adding a tower to my 1999 speedster.
