This is the 06 Sportster I bought this week. I can't pick it up until next Friday. It's 3 hours away and I have company coming this weekend. I just keep looking at the photos. I have sent a deposit to hold it for me. I will be paying $8500 for it. I thought that was decent. I somewhat wanted the 215 version but thought the 155hp would be fine for me and less maintenance. I haven't seen it in person yet. Anything special I should look for before I hand over the rest of the cash?

Very nice boat.

You are right. For the few MPH up top... IMHO... the fuel savings, and maintenance savings is a big plus in my book.

Since it's suppose to be a "Ready to run" boat... I would let the guy know that you want to take it for a water run. Don't meet him at the water... meet him at his house, and go to the water together. Then, you will be able to see if there are any starting issues (from cold) any leaks, or performance related issues. For the price... and the time it will take for you to get there... he should accommodate your request. (Just like taking a car for a test drive)

Good luck, and let us know how it turns out.

We will be taking it for a test drive. That's why I wanted to wait until I had time to spend checking it out to pick it up. I am not very mechanical (female) but I've owned enough boats and jet skis to check out the little stuff.

Hopefully, I didn't overpay. Those boats used are rare around here and seem to bring top dollar. Nadaguides.com average retail was a little over $8000 with a bimini top and cover so I think I did ok. Same year with 215 in same city was price "reduced" at $11500. There is an 05 215 around here for $9000 but I had already put a deposit down and I am partial to yellow.

CANT WAIT!!! :hurray:
