VTS trim

I have a 1998 GSX limited ,I have replaced a faulty trim motor with a new one and it works when hooked up to battery direct,i hook trim up and it just clicks either way up or down when buttons are pressed,anyone have a idea what it could be ,is there a relay that can be gone or could it be switch.

Any help would be appreciated.

Rarely the motors go bad, but they do.
You most likely need the VTS module replaced.
