I have a 96 xp with the 787cc rotax i was wondering if i was able to replace my trim gage for a 97 xp gauge i know i would have to rewire the gauge so it would work with my wiring harness in my ski. I have the wiring diagrams and i just wanted a little info if it was advisable or not or if anyone has tried it.
Thanks POP.

so i've played with my ski a little bit the last weekend and i've still not figured out why the trim gauge is not working i've still been able to use the trim the power still flows and it goes up and down. i just don't show and power getting to the gauge and the next time i'm going to try is to remove the rear trim box and see if water has gotten in there. I've checked all my fuses in the readr of the craft and in the front. Anyone have any ideas?

i've changed it out with one i had out of another ski and that gauge worked great in the other ski. and i put it in mine and nothing. I'm thinking the rear vst box might have gotten flooded and now it doesn't work. Anyone know how much of a pain that is to remove?

removed one from a 97xp, wasnt bad. Reason i said, broken gauge, thought you had posted, that it still moves up/down-side/side..etc. Or it works, but, think'n its flooded inside and wire for gauge is shorted in it..?

the gauge from the 97 works when i basically hot wired it to the ski and i put my gauge in the other ski it worked fine in that one. I'm thinking i have a short in the rear box becuase there was water in the hull and that was about the time it stopped working. I'm going to try to remove the vts trim section to see if there is any corrosion in there. I only use my ski in fresh water of the dirty mississippi River
