my 95xp has sprung a leak on the upper exhaust manifold,
While shopping for a manifold I came across a cable operated VTS Trim system for a Seadoo. My electric VTS system has been dead along time. Controller is bad, but it stuck in a good riding position, so i op'd out on the 200+ expense.
this unit doesn't specifi the year seadoo it came off of. it's all there from the control knob to the cable,
question is can i switch out my eletric system for the mechanical system. ?
by just disconnecting the cable and pluging in the mechical cable and mounting the new conrol knob, ?
thanks?

i just found this killer place...........:hurray:

i think i'll take my manifold to work next week and see if we can weld or repair it, be4 i buy anudder 1,

Manual VTS...

The cable controlled VTS systems are used on the boats. I'm not to sure if they can easily be modified to fit the ski's.....
Leak?.......if your manifold has a pinhole leak in the water jacket, you may be able to grind it out with a burring tool (dremel) to clean aluminum and use a JB weld to repair. The last time I looked, those exhaust pipes were over a couple hundred bucks!.......

yep, it a hole about 3mm in what looks like a weld in plug , by th hose connection,

upon further investigation this vts unit is from a 94xp, but looking at the fische, they use a mtr too. looks like a knob control instead of push button,.
oh well,,,,
who make a cable trim control for the xp?

None that I know of....

I don't know of any modifications to the VTS systems to make them cable operated. It would be nice though. I know I like mine just the way it is. One less system to worry about.

Your hole is in the same place mine was. I used the dremel tool to burr it out clean, then used a piece of aluminum screen to fit over the area and used JB weld. There is no real pressure on it, except from the nozzles inlet to the motor. I had 3 or 4 areas that I ended up repairing. None have started leaking again.

Good luck!..........
