Parts.......

Bigler is right. If you can find a dealer near you, sometimes, it's a good idea to get them local. The only problem is, most of the parts shops near me, or that I've dealt with, do the same thing. If it's a new item, from say a 2005 model or better, they may have it on hand. If not, they order it from an internet distributer. Then they tack on the shipping cost, then their precentage of profit for themselves.

When I first got my boat, I needed a throttle cable. I called my local shop, he had one. I asked him the price, it was $136 bucks! and he said it'd take a few days to get it..........I asked for what? 3 feet of cable and a lead knob on the end of it?.......Then I went online and looked for the part. It was $86 bucks. So I figure he must have been looking at the same site, then, trying to charge me for him being the "middle" man.

I'm not saying all shops do this. I think the larger dealers with nice service centers have a good supply of parts on hand. But be careful of the ones that only want to be the middle man. If you find the part and get a price, then check online and see what the price is.

The other idea is how fast do you need it. Sometimes, it's not feasible to shop online. You may need it ASAP!.........so the extra few bucks spent is worth it.

Oh, BTW Blacked Out....the Seadoowarehouse shows that part as no longer available.
