VTS guage

is there anyway to test the guage.....my trim works but the guage dosent.....when i plug in the key it will go up and down like its testing its self but will not work when the button is pushed....i have a 97 xp....

Give this a whirl. Disconnect 2-circuit connector housing of BROWN/BLACK and BROWN/WHITE wires of gauge. Connect multimeter test probes to BROWN/
BLACK and BROWN/WHITE wires of gauge. See if ya got resistance there.

will that tell me if the guage is working?? how do i det to the back of the guage....from the front of the guage or do i need to get the top cap off....im kinda new to this so sorry about all the newbe questions....thanks

Open the little storage compartment, the glove box, remove the little basket in there and you will have access to all your gauges.

check this out........i was ridding today and the guage started working.....i have no clue what happened but its great to save the money and still be able to use the trim.....:rofl::rofl:

Make sure you frequently check the VTS box at the rear of the boat. If it fills up with water (it likes to), you will scramble the electronics in there or caused the motor assembly to corrode.

And also make sure the rubber boot above the nozzle is in good shape with no rips or tears. Check it FREQUENTLY to avoid all kinds of other problems.
