Hi folks, need a bit of help. I have 1998 Seadoo XP Limited with a bad VTS Controller. Motor is good, gauge is working. So I purchased the Trim Fix box. First, in order to make sure the wires I am cutting into are right ones, does some one have the color coding or diagram of the connector? Second, has anyone installed this and used the existing power to the old module to run the box versus the separate wiring directly to the battery. I just would prefer to use the existing power and fuse if its not a no-no.

Any help appreciated!

you only have to cut into the harness with 6 wires... i would suggest just running it to the battery like it says to do if you run the power through the harness the red wire of the box will go to the purple white wire of the harness. if you choose to go this route, change the fuse in the mpem from 7.5 to 15. the brown wires of the harness you wont mess with those are for the gauge... the blue green and black go to the switch side of the box and the blue and green you will run through your vts box to the motor. just drill a whole and run it through. seal it up with something so water wont get in. also check your boot or you stand to lose the gauge also. if its fine just fill it with a good marine grease so that if it does tear the water will have to work through something...

Thanks for the feed back, I will run it as they say. I just dislike having extra wires thats all. My only concern at this point after looking at it yesterday, is if I place the Trimfix on top of the current trim module it will be right under the exhaust hose of the XPL. I guess I will goop and tie wrap it to the side to keep the heat away from it. Thanks for help! Next weekend she goes in. By the way the gauge works so its just wires and strapping it down.

I only installed the fix once, on a 2002 XPL (the $20 homemade version) and I strapped it on top of my battery and had no issues putting it there.

just strap it over the battery you are already running it in the wiring harness just tiewrap it up there where the red and black will hang down over the battery...
