Is there a specific VCK (Vehicle communication KIT) for each type of seadoo PWC?
I tried to program a learning key for my son but the dealer "In Egypt" told me that they did not import the model i have " 2002 GTX Di" .... so their VCK (Vehicle communication KIT) won't work with my model ... does it make sense? what if i have a serious problem which needs VCK? i know it's only given to dealers and not sold in market? ... is there any option?

Alex, to my knowledge the VCK unit covered all models. There might be software updates, but I thought it covered all of them.

Vck?

Yes, the VCK is a general communication link between the models that use the EMS (engine managment system) to control the set-up and operation of the ski. The VCK is the same for every model, but the B.U.D.S. (bombardier utility diagnostic software) computer software, which is the what the VCK links to, may be different between the DI, RFI and 4-TEC engines.

There is no specific informatioin for me to determine that the one software program is used for all. I would think because of the differences in the engines, the software is different.

What is weird, the VCK isn't needed for programming of a lanyard (learning) key. The MPEM programmer, which is used on all models, is capable of doing this function. You only have to purchase the lanyard, either through your dealer or from an online distributer.

So, if this repair/dealer facility your doing business says they dont' have the necessary equipment to work on your ski, I'd look for another shop because I'd be worried that these people aren't qualified to even open the hood to yours.
