Utopia-Disabling Neutral Start Switch

I have a 2007 Utopia. When I bought it used, the neutral switch would often prevent the engines from starting and I had to have it replaced. It's starting to act up again, not allowing me to start the engines, so I'm thinking about disabling the switch. I read an older thread that stated all I would have to do would be cut the wires on the switch and wire nut/solder them together. Makes sense...but then I recently read a thread on a different forum (jetboating.net) that basically stated if the circuit is always closed (ie, always in neutral), the MPEM will not allow the engines to get above 3500 rpm. In effect, the MPEM will allow the engines to start when the circuit is closed, but once running the MPEM needs to see an open circuit to allow high rpm's.

I don't know enough about the MPEM to know if this is correct. Has anyone disabled the switch on a 2007 Utopia, with success? Does anyone know if disabling the switch will limit the rpm's?

Don't know for sure but common sense and BRP's liability insurance would probably dictate some way to limit personal and property damage if the engine(s) are accidentally started at full throttle and the reverse bucket is either up or in reverse. Don't know if full throttle would blow them off in neutral. If you have any appreciable assets and value yours and others' safety/property, might be best not to intentionally bypass that safet6y feature.
