Utopia 185 Speedometer

Can anybody provide details on the electrical for the speedometer? My 185 speedometer is kind of stuck, I checked what I thought was the right fuse and it was fine, and when I disconnect the sending unit I see 10.4 volts from the feed wires, so power is being supplied. So how do I check to see if the sender is working? The paddle wheel spins freely. So I'd like to hook up a volt meter to see if the sending unit is really working.

The wheel on the back of the hull is a pulse. You may not be able to read it with a meter, unless it's sensitive. Generally an old type with a needle is best. You can see it move back and forth.
