I bought a 99 Speedster over the summer and used the oil that he had left in the oil injection tank. Not sure what brand it is probably seadoo brand but is is green in color. Not sure if this is the mineral oil or not but i bought a gallon of seadoo synthetic oil. Will it be ok to mix these two together since there is still a little of the green oil left in the tank if not what do i need to do to use the synthetic oil :confused:

Definately start using the synthetic... the green stuff is probably regular 2-cycle oil, seadoo is brown.

You should drain the oil tank of the remaining oil completely.

Others in the forum will also tell you to completely drain the oil injection system and re-fill it with the new oil.
I didn't do that because I'm lazy and it required pulling a lot of stuff apart on my boat...

What can happen, is that the different oils can react to each other and turn into a jelly, causing the oil to not inject properly, then self-destructing the engine... Can it happen? Yes. Is it likely to happen? Not really...

What I'd do is drain the tank, fill it back up with the new oil and put a mark on the tank. Then add some oil to the fuel (for about a 1:50 mix I think), and run through that tank of fuel. It will run a little dirty because of the extra oil, but won't damage anything... Check how much oil is left in the tank, if it's below the mark it's using the oil and isn't clogged

Here is the correct way to exchange the oil in the tank, lines and do the adjustment of the pump and lines when finished...yea it takes some time but is it quicker to replace a seized engine?

Here is a step by step to the oil pump oil lines;

After you drain the oil from the oil lines and refill them, you have to be sure there is no air in the lines when the engine starts up or it will cause the engine to seize up. You need to fill the oil lines back up with oil. To drain the oil from the Rotary Valve Chamber, use a oil extractor pump to suck the oil out of the hose…it’s the one that is 3/8” diameter. I attach the empty lines back to tank and fill the tank. The oil line going to the oil injector pump attaches to a elbow fitting on allows the oil to flow to the pump. I let the oil drain into the oil line to the pump first and put a small cup at the end of the oil line, to catch the oil coming out of the end of full line. Attach the full oil line to the elbow on the oil pump. There is a bleeder screw on the pump. Lay a rag under the bleeder screw. Open the bleeder screw till the pump has oil coming out. Tighten the bleeder screw. Be sure the oil is full in the small 2 lines also. Let the oil seep out the ends of the small lines to fill the lines as best as you can. Connect the 2 small oil lines from the pump to the carburetors. Where the cable is connected is a Disk,(pump lever) that the cable is attached to. Check that the mark on the pump aligns with the mark on the disk. Apply the throttle with the ENGINE OFF and check that the cable is in sync with the oil injector cable. They should move open and close at the same time. To bleed the 2 small lines and get the bubbles out, start the engine, on the water hose. DO NOT APPLY THROTTLE. Let the engine IDLE. Turn the Disk,( pump lever) that the oil injector cable is attached to, to full open so the air bubbles travel to the carburetors and leave no bubbles in the line. Don’t run the seadoo for more than a couple minutes on the hose.
For the Rotary Valve Gear Shaft, attach the hose on the tank and allow the oil to fill the hose and attach it to the case. Recheck all the oil lines and be sure they aren't leaking any oil. If you still have any questions give us a shout.

Oil Pump Adj.
First you need to adjust the carburetor idle so the speed adjust touches the adjustment plate. Turn the screw 2 more turns. Turn the cable adjustment screw to align the marks on the Injector pump. Look closely and you’ll see the marks on the cable disk and the pump. Use a mirror if necessary. The throttle and oil injector must be synchronized to react at the same time. This adjustment is the same on single or dual carb models. Be sure the oil is in the lines to the carburetors. (Use a helper in the next step) Start up the seadoo on the garden hose, be sure it is running before you turn on the water. Push the cable disk( pump lever) to full oil while the seadoo is on the water hose. DON”T REV THE ENGINE, let it idle, while you getting the oil to the carburetor hoses. Turn off the water and shut down the engine. Recheck the adjustment of the cables.

Here is what is recomended by seadoo...
Use High quality low ASH API TC Injector oil.
Do Not use NMMA TC-W, TC-W2 or TC-W3 outboard motor oils or other ash less type 2 cycle oil. Avoid mixing different brands of API TC oil as resulting chemical reaction will cause severe engine damage. Never mix Mineral or synthetics oil together.
