Used 720 Cylinders

I just got ahold of two 717/720 cylinders. They are standard bore size. The walls look great. No scuffing and gouges. Slight bit of flash rust in bores.

Would it work to order some standard size pistons and hone the slight rust out or do I need to have a machine shop handle them?

Did you measure them? They are probably near or at the limit. If they are apart I'd rebore for certain. Good luck. I always get local shops to more my cylinders. You can get them done really quick as opposed to waiting and waiting.

Both cylinders are 81.98mm. Doubt I'd limit is met yet at that size. Unless flash rust in .25mm think.

That's pretty tight for a 20+ year old engine unless it got resleeved at some point. Good Luck.

No.....I just bought the cylinders off a guy that said they were off a newer jet ski. I busted the bolts off my 1999 GTI.
