Ive looked through the forum and have found a few posts about finger throttles, but none of them realy answered my question. I would like to know whats the pros of the finger throttle. Also what are the cons? Anybody have a finger throttle on the ski? Do you like it? Im fairly new to skis so I sould just like to know what would be the point of converting to the finger throttle? Thanks in advance

Go ride it for a bit. I got a sore thumb so I switched to finger throttle. I went with the Riva Racing one. I tried UMI but it would keep the idle so high, I ditched it.

My spi idles fast with the stock thumb throttle, so i guess I wouldt go UMI.

How do you like your finger throttle?

I would say it requires adjustment on the part of your carburetor. In my case, I could adjust it to the max and it would idle at 3000 in water.

IF you really want the Riva Yamaha one, I will have to give you some special instructions on what to get since that is for a different boat. Other than that, I liked it.

Thanks for your responces, Im gonna read up on it more before I do anything, and IF I do anything it will be next spring. Thanks for your help!

See link below for instructions. Get JUST the finger throttle. The screws are easily available from any hardware store.

I have the UMI throttle and I like it. Nice and smooth and easy to conrtol and helps keep your finger from sliding off.. The entire UMI Steering system and handlebars is nice too but expensive.

Yea I just recently bought a 95 spi for only 800 bucks and im curious about the finger thottle. That might be somthing im gonna look into over the winter. Thanks for your responce!
