Turn/Acceleration issues

So I recently got my boat out on the water for the first time this season, and I'm not sure if I'm expecting too much or if it is under-performing. Here are the two issues I'm encountering:
It seems to take a bit of time to accelerate to top speed, not a huge amount but about 10 seconds.
When I turn to sharp I lose all speed and have to accelerate again from basically a stop.

Anyone have any ideas? I have read that disabling the turning assist may help, but I have no idea how to do that.

Thanks for any help!

You have a cavitation issue. (probably)

BUT....... let me ask......

1) Are you talking about a "sharp turn"... or are you almost sliding the boat? (like I sharp skid)

2) If you push the throttle full... from a stop... are the engines reving up, and you aren't going? (like spinning your tires) or do the RPM's com up as the boat speeds up?

When I'm going at a decent speed and turn the boat more then about a 45 degree turn it drops down to ~10-15mph

It feels a little like both, more the first rather then the second though.
