Will my 85hp GTI be strong enough to pull a tube with two skinny teenagers(100lb) and one 220lb adult driving?

It will be able to pull the tube, but the ride will probably be pretty tame. You do need to have a spotter on the PWC with you.

check your local laws. Chances are... you won't be legal with 2 people on a tube. Some states differ... but the USCG rule is... driver, spotter, and you can only have as many riders as the capacity of the boat. Since you have a 3 person ski... you can only have one more person. The reason for that is... if there is a problem, and the rider needs out of the water... you can't over load the boat.

you have plenty of power to pull them. i pulled my 6'4" tall 260 pound son with our old 60hp gts. it did fine. but i do know in our state (ohio) you cant pull two legally.

My kids get up just as fast as behind the boat.

Your 155 will be a lot stronger than my 85.

Thanks Dr. Here we just need the mirrors, no spotter required but yes, only take out as many as the boat capacity. We'll be careful and usually play in a big cove off of the main lake channel.

I wasn't taking about my GTI 155, I was on our private lake and was using both the 94 xp's with the 657x motor and my 95 xp's with the 720's.

It's a silly rule, since the observer could simply swim to shore and the rider could be picked up by another boat. But the laws don't have to make sense and you still have to follow them. (Like having to carry a fire extinguisher. I've yet to imagine any scenario in which you'd use it.)
